Your boat seats are susceptible for mildew and mold to grow even if you did use a boat cover. This is because moisture can seep in and attract bacteria and germs. Sometimes you may have stains that are left by the mildew or sometimes stains from spillages and they need to be cleaned. They are very unattractive especially if you are using white vinyl for your seats.
The Ingredients You Need
The boat cleaning products that you should use to clean your marine seats need to be environment friendly. This means that you cannot use those harsh cleaners, because they will harm the fish in the sea. You can try the home made cleaning solutions. They are quick, effective and environment friendly. You will need one bottle of quart spray, two cups of distilled white vinegar, two cups of water, a wash basin, one cup washing soda, and one gallon of hot water, a soft bristled brush and soft clean towels.
How To Clean With White Vinegar
When cleaning your boat seats with white vinegar you need to follow the following steps. You must mix the white vinegar and water into a spray bottle and replace the nozzle. You have to then shake the bottle, only three times to mix it well. Then you have to start to mist a heavy layer of the vinegar solution on the seats of your boat. You should be able to see the shining cleanser on the surface of the seat of your boat. You must let the solution soak your seat for at least five minutes. Then you have to mist the seat with another layer of vinegar solution. Then you should start scrubbing the seat with the brush. The bristles should be able to scrub and remove even the deepest stains on the seats. You can simply wipe the solution off the seat with a towel. Do not try to wash it as that will leave moisture. The vinegar solution will dry naturally and will not have any residue or odor.
Steps To Clean With Baking Soda
When cleaning with washing soda, pour it into a wash basin and add hot water. You have to dip the brush in the solution and proceed to clean the seats without removing excess water. Scrub lightly over the surface because harsh treatment will damage the seat. You must let the solution soak the seat for about five minutes. Then you must repeat the first step. Then you must wipe away the solution with a towel, then wet the towel and wipe the marine seats again.
